Third Coast at PRPD

Connect fellow conference attendees

I'm back from the PRPD Conference in Los Angeles, which in some ways felt like a great way to warm up for the TCF Conference. Tons of radio folks gathered for a few days to talk of nothing but radio, develop and deepen connections among colleagues and friends old and new, and push the boundaries of necessary sleep allotment. It was fascinating to put some faces to voices to names - (Kai Ryssdal hosted the presentation of the ACE Awards for creative excellence, Robert Siegel and Melissa Block shared some thoughts over breakfast one morning with All Things Considered executive producer Chris Turpin, and John Moe spun a perfect tale of Robot Invasion of the Airwaves (disguised as thoughts on Public Insight Journalism) the morning before that. Of course now, if you've followed links, you've all put faces to these familiar names and voices. Except for John Moe, you'll need to go here to do that. Anyway. The point is: keep an eye on nametags when you get to Evanston, because you're bound to have a few revelatory moments when you make the connection between a name, a voice, and a recent story you heard by the very person standing in front of you.

P.S. I can't believe the advances in nametag technology since we started this whole project.
